Project Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

LOCATION: Studio TK Clayton, NC

DEPARTMENT: STK Product

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    You will be responsible for assigning tasks and managing timelines on all product development activities. You aren’t doing the work but making sure it was completed. In addition to managing tasks/schedules, you will need to facilitate cross functional meetings like stage gates & status updates. Priorities & resources are always a challenge when developing products and you will need to manage those demands when building out a path to launch. You will be a critical member of the team and the glue that holds each department closely together during the development/NPI process. Lastly, you will coordinate buy-in from each stakeholder on the overall project timelines to maintain alignment with priorities & resources.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Represent Studio TK within the Teknion organization’s NPI Process
  • Advocate & exemplify the Studio TK core values
  • Collaborate with multiple teams throughout the entire product development process to ensure timely market launches
  • Maintain accountability & enforce process adherence to establish consistent work practices across teams
  • Learn to guide teams through successful kickoffs resulting in well-defined development phases
  • Facilitate Stage Gates & regular forums for stakeholder alignment
  • Co-develop interdependent program timelines with input from all team members & secure buy-in
  • Identify critical path items to maintain progress towards goals while effectively managing tradeoffs during execution
  • Formulate action plans to mitigate identified risks & remove obstacles
  • Foster clear & consistent communication with all areas of the business regarding project status and overall health
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing processes and tools for product

 

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Leadership or Business Management
  • At least 2 - 5 years of experience
  • Exposure to various technical product fields and manufacturing methods
  • Understanding of contract furniture products preferred
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft tools
  • Working knowledge of program management tools like Basecamp
  • Proven track record of relevant product launches
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • PMP Certification a plus
  • Ability to travel locally and internationally
