Upholstery Sewer (Multiple Opportunities Available)

REPORTS TO: Lead Sewer

CLOSING DATE: Until Filled

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsible for sewing fabric/leather/vinyl chair covers.
Following the direction of lead sewer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sewing fabric, leather and vinyl covers for chairs, sofas and loveseats.
• Match pieces of cut material together and sew with appropriate stitch to produce quality cover.
• Follow written instructions

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH, AND SAFETY (EHS)

• Consistently follows EHS general rules and procedures and is aware of the EHS policy.
• Demonstrates good initiative for working safely, reporting, and participating in EHS.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to operate single stitch, double stitch, serge and tunnel tie sewing machines.
• Ability to thread sewing machine and make simple adjustments.
• Minimum three (3) years experience in upholstery sewing.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Light lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs, straight pulling, use of fingers, depth perception, ability to distinguish colors and shades
