Inspired by the raw, rectangular worktables from the industrial age, Rec creates high work postures ideal for today’s social spaces
May 25, 2020
Studio TK today announced the introduction of its Rec Worktables designed by Christophe Pillet, as part of the company’s May 2020 collection launches.
“A worktable should be aesthetically intriguing and approachable—not too technical,” says Christophe Pillet. “This is what informed the design for the Rec Worktables, which will contribute to gentler contract environments that are both durable and inviting for users.”
“Rec harkens back to the era of the raw, rectangular worktables commonly associated with the industrial age,” said Charlie Bell, President, Studio TK. “Our new offering defines compelling high work settings for the more active worker and creative types − those who need to sit or stand and accomplish solo, heads-down tasks. Rec supports applications that serve both perimeter and open space planning, for personal touchdown, quick gatherings, and longer-term collaborative work scenarios.”
Rec tables are offered in three popular heights – 29 inches for seated applications, 36 inches to accommodate standing and counter work, and a 42-inch bar height. Top options include single or split surfaces. Single tops are available in widths of 24, 36, and 48 inches, and up to 227 inches long; split tops range in length from 58 to 227 inches by 48 inches deep and accommodate edge-mounted power for enhanced wire management capabilities.
Offered in a versatile range of top surface materials including linoleum, laminate, and veneer, Rec is suitable for a host of workspace aesthetics. Three base styles are finished in 16 powdercoat colors. The base of the 48-inch deep Rec table incorporates footrests.
In addition to Rec Worktables, Studio TK is also launching this year: Sly Side, Occasional, and Coffee Tables; Havn Occasional Tables; Jima seating by Artifort; Clique Modular Bench enhancements; Vondom seating and tables; and additions to Beso Seating and Bevy Tables.
