Studio TK’s Dual Lounge Wins Good Design Award
January 19, 2018
Studio TK today announced that its Dual lounge seating designed by Toan Nguyen has been honored with a Good Design Award. The international competition is presented annually by The Chicago Athenaeum, together with The European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies.
“This year’s historic 67th Good Design program recognizes the work of thousands of designers and manufacturers worldwide who have successfully undertaken the design challenge to produce the best and most outstanding design products across the globe to our large and expanding global consumers," states Christian Narkiewicz-Laine, Museum President, The Chicago Athenaeum.
“This has been an exciting year for Studio TK, a year in which we introduced many workplace collections focused on social spaces, and have been honored with several impressive awards, including our latest – a Good Design Award for Dual lounge,” said Charlie Bell, President, Studio TK. “This is a great achievement for Dual designer Toan Nguyen and his ongoing work with Studio TK.”
Dual lounge is a dynamic seating collection designed to celebrate expression and elevate the conversation. The duality of materials offers a seat ripe for expression. Upholster in a single color, or two, or split the difference with a partially opaque knit base available in 11 different finishes. A posture fit for every occasion, a low-back chair for a relaxed or casual collaboration. A high-back chair for when you need time to unwind and recharge. The lounge design introduces a residential aesthetic to bring a welcoming sensibility to a range of spaces – so that work doesn’t feel like work.
In addition to the Best of Year Award, Dual lounge has received two other awards since its debut at NeoCon 2017 – a Best of Year (BoY) and a HiP at NeoCon, both from Interior Design magazine.
